Celebrate China’s 60th National Day & Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong
This is the first time I can celebrate China’s 60th National Day on Oct 1 and Mid-Autumn Festival, Oct 3 in Hong Kong since I left 4 years ago. The parades celebrating China’s 60th National Day were so incredibly impressive and neat which make all of us feeling proud of being Chinese . Here is a link with some parade highlights.

A few pictures to share some festive fof my favorite festive food I had this year:
Five Kernel (五仁) Mooncake (月餅), this is probably the most old fashioned mooncake. A filling consisting of 5 types of nuts and seeds, coarsely chopped and held together with maltose syrup. Commonly used nuts and seeds include: walnuts, pumpkin seeds, watermelon seeds, peanuts, sesame, or almonds. In addition, the mixture will usually contain candied winter melon, jinhua ham, or pieces of rock sugar as additional flavouring.
Mini custard cream with salted egg yolk mooncake from Peninsula Hotel. Just before serving, best warm up using the microwave for 20 seconds.
Custard glutinous rice dumplings with sweet potato and ginger soup from Xi Yan 囍宴 • Flavors
Okinawa black sugar Japanese dumplings treat from Xi Yan 囍宴 • Flavors
Super big starfruit
Greetings from Hong Kong!

Thanks for sharing! Have a great time!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! I’ve never celebrated it in HK, although I was living in Beijing for one National Day celebration. I love the look of the mini custard cream with salted egg yolk mooncake!
